OPINIONS ON THE VETO CON FERENCE.

The Daily News (Liberal) deprecates the idea of a compromise and apprehends that the present situation of the Veto Conference points to a crisis. The journal recommends in-the event of a deadlock that a general election be held in January. It adds that apparently the Unionist leaders are willing to the limit imposed by the veto of the Lords except as regards so-called constitutional chanThe Standard (Unionist) states that the prospects of an agreement are now much more favourable.
