Owing to Mr Justice Brewer's death and Mr Justice Moody's illness the Standard Oil and Tobacco Trust appeals were ordered to be re-argued. The re-argument will probably take place in tho autumn, and the decision will be given in tho winter. Tho trial of Dr. Hyde in connection with tho Swope murder case has begun at Kansas City. An Alaskan expedition, consisting of three experienced mountaineers, reached tho summit of Mount McKinley, but found no traces of Cook's ascent. Reutcr's agent at Rome reports tha.t Mr Roosevelt has stated at Portomauritzio, where he is now 6taying, that he will be a candidate for the next Presidential election.
