The Public "Works Committee reported to the Borough Council last night that the Engineer estimated the cost of a destructor would be £10,000, the cost of working £3581, and the expected receipts £5620, leaving about £2044 profit per annum. The Committee decided to recommend the Council to inform the Gas Company that it was proposed to erect a destructor that would generate about IoU horse-power, which would be available for use for lighting purposes, and ask if the Company would object to the surplus power being used tor lighting the Council's public buildings. The Engineer was instructed to make a new plan for the proposed Borough baths, to include a tank 100 x 40, and a swimming bath tor children 10 x 40, and to delete all buildings not necessary for the working of the baths.
