AUCTION SALES.
Mounsey and Co. draw special attention to the sale of superior and valuable
furniture they are selling to-morrow, on behalf of Mr Goring Thomas, at his residence, Park road, commencing at 1 p.m. Those desirous of beautifying their homes should attend this sale. The piano is a magnificent instrument/ costing 80 guineas only a few months ago. It is complete with all the latest improvements and is by one of the leading makers of the world. Special mention is made of Chesterfield and 2 divan chairs with covers, ax minster carpcts, very handsome framed oak sideboard, kauri extension table, 400-day clock, kauri writing desk, coal scuttle, overmantle, Queen Anne tables, all brass double bedsteads complete with mattrasses, duchess chests and pairs, hall stand and seat, lady's bicycle almost new, 50-fect garden hose, lawn mower, etc. As Mrs Goring Thomas is leaving for England everything will be sold to the best advantage.
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have rei ceived instructions from Mr J. R. Stansell, Shannon, to sell at the Empire Hall on April 7 the unsold sections of the Clifton estate, within lj.- miles of the Post Office, and especially suited for residential or speculative purposes. Gorton and Son, Ltd., advertise a clearing sale of dairy stock, to be held at Reid's Line, Bunnythorpe, on Wednesday, March 23, at 12.30 p.m., on account of Messrs Wood and Son.
Harry Palmer will sell the furniture arid household effects at No. 40, corner of Ada and College streets, on Monday next at one o'clock.
MARKET REPORT.
Mounsey and Co. report very successful sales since their last report sales of furniture being held on account of Messrs McAlister, J. Rosonoski. and Hammond. Clearing sales of dairy stock and farm implements have been held on behalf of Messrs. St. Clair, Jounneaux, and Russell. At Mr J. Russell's sale of dairy stock, horses and vehicles on Tuesday, cows were in great demand, buyers being present in good numbers, and bidding throughout the sale was fairly brisk with the result that everything sold under the hammer. Young cows and early calvers were in best demand, and realised from £7 to £10 10s, heifers in calf from £5 to £7 ss, unsound cows from £3 to £7 7s 6d, late calvers from £5 to £8 10s. The herd, with the exception of a few unsound cows_. averaged the grand price of £7 17s. The whole herd of 43 averaged the very satisfactory price of £7 4s 9d. Other lines: Bradley gig, pony, and harness £40, trap horse aged £5 15s, draft horse aged £15, spring trap £10, Bradley gig £24, gig harness £4, sow with litters from £2 2s 6d to £2 17s 6d, sows to pig £2 to £2 12s 6d, boar £1 7s 6d, porkers £1 2s, small stores 17s 6d, suckers ss, empty cows £1 10s, slips lis 6d. barley 10s sack. At Mr St. Clair Jounneaux' sale on Monday most of the lines sold at satisfactory prices. The 85 cows were not in the best of condition. Anything good rea-

We quote: Early calvers from £3 5s to £8 2s 6d, late do. from £3 7s 6d to £7 15s, unsound cows from £3 to £4 ss, heifers in calf from £3 7s 6cl to'£4 17s 6d. 43 weaner calves £1 ss, 100 f.nx. breeding ewes 12s 6d, 89 dairy lambs 5s 3d, rams from 7s to £1 Is, 60\vs to litter £3 to £3 17s 6d, stores 17s. At our mart sale on Saturday we disposed of a largo amount of produce, fruit, and furniture. Prices were the same as our previous report.
STOCK REPORTS,
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held their usual monthly sale at Waikanae on the ,16th inst., when there was' a' full yarding, nearly every lot being cleared at satisfactory prices. The firm quote: —Fat wethers up to 15s, fat and forward wethers 13s 6d, breeding ewes (mixed ages) 9s lOd. old breeding ewes 6s, shorn lambs (mixed sexes) 7s 9d, store woolly lambs 5s lid, Romney rams 2-tooth' to 2gns, springing heifers £3 6s to £3 10s. THE TALLOW SALES.

THE WHEAT SUPPLY.
Received March 17, 9.50 a.m. LONDON, March 16. Wheat. —The American visible supply is 53,5C9,000qr5. There is animated demand and splendid competition for merinos, which have a hardening tendency. MILLINERY. Models and ready-to-wear hats have just been opened by Collinson and Cunninghame's direct from Paris and London. We have also secured the services of a milliner direct from one of the leading Melbourne firms, so we would invite you to see the millinery.— Advt.
