The Union Boating Club's team from Wanganui, which won the Intor-State Four-Oared Championship at Hobart recently, was tendered a reception- on arrival from Sydney to-day by the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association. Several speeches were delivered congratulating the team on their suocees. CHRISTCHURCH, March 16. Charles Ronald McPherson, charged at the Magistrate's Court with breaking and entering and theft from the Church of Christ and the Spiritualists Church, reserved his defence and was committed for trial. The polo match for the Saville Cup resulted in Hawke's Bay winning by 14 goals to Christchurch'e one goal. GISBORNE, March 16. At the Supremo Court William John Knight, charged with sheep-stealing, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment.
