SETTLEMENT OF CLAIMS. (Per Presr Association.) i WELLINGTON, March 14. In the Arbitration Court to-day several cases arising out of the loss of the Penguin and Duco were dealt with, "and in each instanco liability was admitted by shipowners. Mrs Abram, whose husband was master of Duco, was awarded £500 against ;he Wellington Harbour Ferries' Company.

In the caecs against the Union Company with respect to the wreck of the Penguin orders were made as follows: — Alary Ipl. Hayes, awarded £405; Mrs Loosemore, widow of an officer, awarded £100, the Public Trustee to administer the residue- of the estate for the benefit of her posthumous child; Mrs F. Driscoll. awarded £207 on account of the death of her son, one of the officers. In the ease of W. S. Rentoul, engineer, the Court ordered the payment of £135, to be administered by the Public Trustee for the 1 benefit of tho relatives.
