THE SAYONARA CUP
(Br Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Per Prebs Association/) MELBOURNE, March 13. The second race for the Sayonara Cup was sailed over a triangular course seven miles each way. Sayonara was quickest off the mark, but Culwalla 111., lying more to wind-, ward, forged ahead. Culwalla 111., beautifully handled, continued to improve her position, and rounded the first buoy 4min losec ahead of Sayonara. The Victorian yacht made up but again lost ground in the second stretch, passing the second buoy four minutes behind Culwalla 111. On the run home with the wind behind her Sayonara showed to better advantage tlian earlier in the race, but could not make up the lost ground, Culwalla 111. beating her home by about three minutes. The I winner's time was 3hrs 17mins.
