At the tallow auctions 898 casks were offered and 825 sold. Mutton, fine 30, ; 9d, medium 34s 6d; beef, fine 36s 6d. medium 345. Silver, 231 d. STOCK REPORTS. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Palmerston North, report:—At our Huntorville sale on Tuesday, the 3th instant, we had a good yarding oi sheep and a small entry of cattle. Breeding ewos were- rather dull of sale, but all lambs wore disposed oi under the hammer. Quotations: — ■ Mixtd age ewes & lid, cull lambs 4s Id, small lambs 5s Id, wether lambs 6s Sd to 7s, rape lambs 7e 4d to Bs, Romnoy rams jj-guinea, 1 guinea, to \\ to 2 -J guineas. Border Leicester rams 12s, Lincoln rams 10s 6d, aged Southdown rams 1= , ., 2, and 2i guineas. Cattle, fat cows £4 Is 6d, 2\ and 3-year steers £4 10s, 3 and 33vear steore £5 17s 6d. LONDON WOOL SALES. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cable message from their London House, under date of Bth instant:— Wool: The March sales opened with a large attendance of buyers, aiiim:ited competition and a fair selection,. For merinos generally prices are at par to 5 per cent, advance, fine crossbred s are unchanged, but medium and coarse crossbreds show a decline of from par to 5 per cent.
