SUICIDES.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 10. Samuel Lidster, barman at the Warkworth Hotel, committed suicide. His body was found in tho river in a condition that ehowed that deceased had apparently attempted to cut his throat and then jumped into the river. Hβ had been suffering from influenza and was under medical treatment some time. WELLINGTON, March 9. Nang Goo, a Chinaman, aged 48 years, a market gardener from Nelson, hung himself this morning from a tree at tho back of premises in Haining street. He hud been staying with Joe Queen, who last saw him alive at 11 o'clock on Tuesday night, when Nang Goo bad© him "Good night." He did not hear deceased get up during the night. They wore Bleeping in the samo room and on going into hie backyard at 5.30 a.m. this morning, Queen eaw Nang Goo suspended by a, rope from a tree four feet from the ground. He severed tho ropo but life was extinct. Nang Goo had been in ill-health for some time, Hβ camo over from Nelson to bid "Good-bye" to one of his countrymen who was leaving for China. He had boon twelve yeare in New In Nang Goo's pockets were found a jukwn ticket for £1 (for his watch) and 3e 9d. At the inquest a verdict of suicide by his own hand was returned.
