\t the Stratford Magistrate's Court Daniel Dodd, of Kaponga, labourer, sued Herbert E. Lewis, of To Kuiti, coach driver to recover the sum of £30, being £20 alleged to have been advanced and paid by the plaintiff to the defendant on or about September, 1905, wherewith defendant purchased the racehorse Burton from one John Currin and £10 further money advanced by plaintitt to defendant at or about the same time tor the purpose of buying feed for the eaid horse The case was a somewhat complicated one, and after being part heard the parties came to terms, plaintiff agreein? to accept judgment for. the £20 and waiving the other £10, as the horse deal had proved a bad one for the defendant. It was stated that Burton was seized j from Lewis and sold under warrant of distress for £9. but the horse had since won races and had again changed hands j Armlet was scratched for the Great Easter at 10.45 a.m. to-day. \rtillerio has been scratched tor all engagements at the Sydney Easter meeting.
