FROM A BANKRUPT ESTATE. Press Association.) NAPIER, March 9. The Supreme Court is at present occupied hearing an action by the Deputy-Official Assignee at Dannevirke to recover from Lavina Paterson monies alleged to have been wrongfully transferred to her name

by her husband, J. J. Paterson, bankrupt. The amount involved is between £6000 and £7000. The evi- | dence traverses bankrupt's dealings in various firms, and the case is likely to last a couple of days. After the Court resumed to-day the parties in the Patterson case entered into negotiations with a view to settlement, and it is possible arrangements will be made for the payment i of a substantial dividend to the creditore.
