Mr Justice Williams last Thursday completed his thirty-fifth year of judicial service. The Otago Daily Times, commenting on the fact, says: —"The record which is involved in this circumstance is of an altogether exceptional occurrence. Writing subject to correction, we believe there is not another judge in the British Empire of whom it can be said that he has had a judicial career equal in duration to that of tho distinguished lawyer and ripe scholar who is the doyen of the Bench in New Zealand." _ Children cry when cod liver oil is mentioned, but emile when Stearns' Wine of Cod Liver Extract is given them. They like to take it, and it does them more good because it doee not upset their delicate stomachs.-—Ad vt.
