(Pes Press Association.) SYDNEY, March 7. At the conclusion of the meeting of the Newcastle colliery owners to-day the following communication was made to the press: —"The proprietors are asked by the Employees' Federation to state how many men" were at present employed in -the 'mines, and if they were unionists. What the Federation really wants is that we should dismiss the men. That is precisely what we refuse to do. These men came to our assistance in a time of trouble, and the meeting has unanimously decided not to sacrifice them. We do not intend to budge an inch "
