CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.

VERDICT FOR DEFENDANT. (Feu PnF.ss Association.) WELLINGTON. March 7. To-day Eliza Jane Auni.-s, wife of Richard Anniss, seaman, of Wellington, sued Frodk. J. . Rnvner, proprietor of the American Dental Parlours, for £250 damages for alleged bodily injury occasioned by the extraction of teeth. The case was heard by the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout). Mr Wilforrl stated that the plaintiff had gone to the American Dental Parlours and had eleven teeth extracted from the lower jaw. Plaintiff's mouth was bleeding very much after the operation. At 7 p.m. the gums were still bleeding. The Parlours were communicated with and plaintiff was told to use hot and cold water. At 8 o'clock the manager (Mr Marsden) went to plaintiff's house and plugged up the holes, but this did not stop the bleeding. Later plaintiff found that one of the nlubs had been left in her gums. His client claimed that the treatment was unskilful and negligent. Plaintiff's gums and jaws were lacerated, which brought on neuritis. At the present time plaintiff was in a very weak state of health. The defence was a total denial of negligence and unskilful treatment. After hearing the evidence his Honor gave judgment for defendant without costs. He said ho was unable to see that the evidence had shown that the defendant company was guilty of negligence j or carelessness.
