BAD WEATHER FOR SHOOTING

The weather at Trentham to-day was the worst for shooting for tho last three years, .so bad indeed that during the afternoon, although nearly 600 men fired over 600 and 900 yards ranges, not one secured a possible. In the morning tho conditions were somewhat better, but still trying to both young and seasoned riflemen, at times the difference between shots being 15 degrees. The following are the principal prizewinners:— Otago Match. 300 and 900 yds, ten shots: —Moye (Donniston), £5, 94; Morgan (Auckland), £4, 93; Morgan (Napier).' £4. 93; Olscn (Eketahuna), £3, 93; Clyde (Waikare), £3. 93; Ayson (Murihiku), £3, 93; Patrick, McCaUey, Maren/.i, Thomas, each won £2. Wellington Match. 500 and 600 yards, ten shots:—Fisher (Stoke), £5, 96; Parelow (Akarana). £4, 96; Baker (Wellington). £4. 96; James (Napier), £3, 96; Smith (Hastings), £3. 95; Tonkin (Dunedi;i\ £3. 95; King (Linwood). Piggott (Australia). Moselen (Kaeo), Ching (Lyttolton) won £2 each.
