THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS
Mr Edward Branscombe is presenting, the Scarlet Troubadours to local theatregoers next Monday and Tuesday, after a most successful tour through Australia. They have succeeded in appealing not, only to the taste of those who enjoy good music, but alsto to those who enjoy good music enlightened by the introduction of refined humour and harmless mirth. Noting the popularity of the humorous numbers contributed by the male quartette which accompanied the Westminster Glee Singers while on tour with Air Branscombe, he has included a most excellent quartette with the ScarJet Troubadours, and their work will be confined to musical comicalities and melodious numbers of an eccentric nature, and these are further enhanced in their attractiveness by the introduction of suitable costumes and actions. Two of the members of this quartette were with the famous Meister Glee Singers, a combination admitted bv London critics to be the finest in the world. There are in addition two ladies and two humorists with the party, all of vAoin enjoy London reputations. We hear that the Troubadours have scored an immense success, and have been performing to overflowing and delighted audiences. Tho Melbourne Argus, describing one of their "performances, says : —Those who are seeking surcease from the typical music hall, tlie alleged comic opera, and the staid formalities of the concert, can rest their weary feelings at the Scarlet Troubadours; indeed, they can have them as good as new. If further testimony be required, the fact that these vocalists arc under the direction of Mr Branscornbe should itself be sufficient, guaraytee as regards refinement, artistic merit, and musical excellence. The Troubadours arc due to open in the Opera House on Monday evening, and for positively two nights only. As this attraction pt onuses to draw immense audiences the management advise patrons to make early application at*-the box oflice for reserved seats, which will be opened at Mr Park's, stationer, at 8.30 this morning-.
