Owners and trainers are finally reminded that nominations for the Dannevirke meeting close with the secretary, Mr J. S. Freeman, at 9 o'clock to-night. The telegraph office at Dannevirke closes at 8 o'clock. S. Murray, Trentham, writes to the N.Z. Times, in- reply to Mr J.- Ame6, stating that Merrivonia "has been a constant attendant on the track there, and has executed some fair work." C. O'Neill has appealed against tho decision of tho stewards of the Foxton Club who imposed a fine of £5 upon him in connection with the brawl in the jockey's room at the Foxton meeting. The whole matter will be investigated by tho stewards of the Metropolitan Club at an early date, and some interesting disclosures may be expected. EGMONT RACES. (Peb Press Association.) Received February 10, 10.40 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 10. Downfall, who sustained a bruised forefoot before leaving New Zealand, had a portion of the affected part removed, and seems none the worse for the operation. Bobrikoff at present goes as if sore.
