A FATAL FIRE.
(Peb Peess Association.) ■.> INVERCARGILL, Feb. 10.
The Railway Hotel at Winfcon, an old wooden building of two storeys, was completely destroyed by fire at six this morning. Thomas Mclnernej 7 , who escaped from the burning building, but was not seen since, is supposed to have re-entered to secure tho contents of the safe and been burnt to death. The insurances are: —New, Zealand, £500 on the building, £375 on the contents; North Blrtish £250, and Yorkshire £200 on tho contents.
