GREAT DAMAGE TO A WHARF.

TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS WORTH. (Per Pbess Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 10. About 1.30 this morning 350 ft of the Northern face of the reclamation area at Freeman's Bay, which is part of the wharf extension sceheme, collapsed. The face was composed of ferro-cor.crete piles and concrete slabs. The Harbour Board had been pumping 6poil from the dredge into the reclamation area and evidently the pressure from the spoil and water against the face was too heavy and at low water it gave way. The 4 ama & e . is estimated at not less than £25,000.
