Robbie, 15. 1"'-Giuri-U. \Y. ilaihiesou. \V. Lewi*, and A. J. Yortt (lion. sec). The headmaster reported that the number on the roll was 405. average .attendance 344. and the highest attendance 352. The school had been open fourteen times. There had bven 'considerable. change in the pupils, a large number ha-vinn- left mid 45 new scholars enrolled. The pie.sent atte:idatice was far from satisfactory, a large number being still away on their holidays. The orders were re.coivcd" from the Defence Department for the cadet camp to be held at the. Unit Valley Park on 23rd to 25th February. The cadets Mill there bo inspected by Lord Kitohenor. —The headmaster oaid that enquiries were now being made amongst the boys to see who would be able to make the excursion. No definite arrangements, however, would be made untfl further word has been received from the Department. The committee discussed the overcrowding in the room used by Standards 111. and IV. Accommodation is provided for 30 scholars, but for a long time past 103 pupils have been crowded into the room. The effect on the children in the hot weather especially wns verv marked, and teachers reported a. diwculty in getting the best work from the children.—The committee decided to draw the Education Board's attention to the condition of things, and to ask Mr G. H. Bennett, the Palmcrston representative on the Board, to assist in the matter. The thank* of the committee were accorded to the carriers who put their vehicles at the disposal of the committee at. -the picnic. , At the request of the All Nations Fair- Committee a holiday was declared for next Wednesday. hotter and Tregmtha were appointed a visiting committee, and it was decided to have the bell, which is at present out of order, repaired.
