THE FRENCH FLOODS.
AN OVERFLOW CHANNEL.
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyhight.) (Per Press Association.) PARIS, Feb. 8. The French Government asks Parliament for a further £800,000 to compensate flood sufferers. After 'falling fourteen feet, the Seine is again showing a tendency to rise, owing to the mild weather melting the snows.
Among suggested preventives of future floods is an overflow canal from Saint Maur across the St. Denis Plain.
