STRIKE AT A FREEZING WORKS.
(Peb Pbess Association.) GISBORNE, Feb. 7. Twenty-seven Europeans employed upon the construction of the freezing works at Tokomaru Bay by Bull Bros., contractors for the building, struck this morning for an increase from eight to nine shillings. A number of the Natives who were also employed failed to turn up. The contractors anticipate no difficulty in finding men to take their places.
