The compromise frees Turkey of paying- war indemnity for forty years, and enables her to realise 125 million francs. In the House of Commons, Colonel Seeloy, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, in justifying the vote of £47,000 for the Somaliland expedition operations, said that the Government was determined to pursue a cautious defensive policy. Mr Balfour suggested the building of_ a road suitable for motor vehicles to give tho troops needed mobility. MOROCCO, March 16. After receiving reinforcements the Sherecfian troops, which were beaten by the Yussi tribe (which was acting on the Pretender's behalf) took revenge by defeating the Pretender's troops at Ait, taking many prisoners. The Yussi tribe offers to surrender.
