NAVAL ARMAMENT.
COMPARATIVE COST. (By Electric Telbshaph—Copyright.) (Pes Press Association.) LONDON, March 16. Official figures show that the battleship Vanguard cost £1,624,878,. at tho rate of £84 per ton compared with the Dreadnought, which cost £100 per ton, and the King Edward the Seventh, which cost £80. The latest French battleships are costing £114 per ton, and Gorman £101. The House of Commons Navy Committee, which includes Liberal Imperialists and Conservatives, has resolved that the building of seven Dreadnoughts next year is and that another should bo added if found necessary, and that the postponement of tho building of four would place an undue strain on the 1910-1911 programme.
The Reduction of Armament Committee has resolved that any increase in the Navy Estimates is inexpedient
