WHITE STAR LINER SUNK.
ALL ABOARD SAVED.
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.} (Peb Press Association.) Received January 25, 8.46 a.m. NEW YORK, January 24. The White Star liner Republic collided with an unknown vessel in a dense fog off Nantucket. The Republic sank, but all on board were saved, including 250 first-class and 211 steerage passengers and a large crew. The Republic was starting on a winter to the Mediterranean, and her cargo included 500 tons' of supplies for the American fleet, to replace those sent to Messina.
