ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
At the inquest into the circumstances connected with the death of James Ford, who was killed at Upokongaro (Wanganui) during the sculling race on Tuesday, the evidence showed that deceased was a total abstainer. Witness Kennedy said that the deceased was quito sober while with him. Dr. Anderson stated that deceased was_ not _ injured externally, but internally his brains were very congested, which was probably the cause of death.
