TERRACE END SCHOOL CONCERT.

The pupils of the Terrace End School held a breaking-up concert last nigM. The attendance 'was exceptionally good and altogether a most enjoyable evening was spent. The chairman (Mr J. A. Nash) presided arid explained that the object of the entertainment was to raise sufficient funds to carry the children to the annual picnic, which is being held this year on Mr Jounneaux's property at .Te Matai, instead of making the customary charge on the parents. ■ The following interesting programmewas rendered :—Overture, Missßhoda Sollitt; pianoforte solo, Master 1 Herbert Rowlands; song, Miss Tatton; recitation, 'Mr' Hale; -song,' Mr Wilson ; pianoforte solo, Horaee Nash ; recitation, , Carrie Reynolds; song, Mr W. Young; songj Mr Hod son; song, Mrs Hair,- recitation, Mr Hale ; duet, Mr and Miss Hodson; song, Miss Tatton; recitation, Mr Hate; song, Mr Young. The accompaniments were played by Miss Tatton. At the conclusion the chairman extended an invitation to parents:-and friends to • attend the presentation of prizes at the school at 12.30 o'clock to-morrow, also to view the exhibition: of school work at the same hour. A collection was then taken up for expenses in connection with the picnic and the proceedings terminated .with the" singing of the National Anthem.
