The correspondent of the Christchurch Press notifies that the Tyneside mine, on the West Coast has now ceased to be a coal producing mine. The last coal was brought to the surface on Saturday of last week. Although it is recognised that a large quantity of the best gas coal in the Dominion still remains uumined ,it is through want of better machinery that it has had to be loft. The mine is now full of water. On Sunday the remaining trucks, rails, etc, were brought to the surface, and all hands except a very few men on top have ceased work. A few days will see the services of the remainder dispensed with.
