THE BUTTER FAT PERCENTAGE.

Per Press Association AUCKLAND, March 27. A deputation waited on the Premier, objecting to the increase in the butterfat percentage in milk from 2.5 to 3.25, and stating that though the average was about 3.75, it was impossible to maintain 3.25 under adverse conditions. T;hey suggested that the minimum be 3 per cent. The Premier said the Government ■was anxious that the countries with which New Zealand was in competition should not have an opportunity of saying that our standard was lower than theirs. He would have tho matter looked into. Government desired to assist the milk industry, but must at the same time see that the public were getting what they paid for.
