MAN BLOWN TO PIECES BY DYNAMITE. DOCUMENTS INDICATE SUICIDE. (Special to " Stahcahd.' ') FELLDING, March 19. At 6.30 this morning an explosion was heard in a whare near Taonui railway station, next door to a house occupied bv Mrs Hasse. 'Little notice „was taken of tho report till about throe hours later. Then a voting' man named Clark went over to tho wliaro. He found that it had been wrecked by dynamite, and under the debris lay the remains of a man. The police were at once summoned, and they ascertained that the upper part of the 'body had been completely shattered, the portion from the waist downwards being alone intact. Examination of tho pockets showed that the body was that of a young man IUMUcd Frederick Hasse, aged 28, son ot tho occupant, of the adjoining house, liaise had bee-i working for he last two vears at Kawatau doing fencing. He purchased some dynamite in Feilding yesterday, a ; nd that was the last time ho was seen alive. . Documents found in deceased s pockets showed that he- had premeditated suicide pnd that he appeared to be in some trouble on account of an accusation made against him by a settler. * Deceased was well known as a quiet, inolYensive man, and general regret is felt, at he tragedy. Ho left a will bequeathing his money to a brother.
