A COMPLAINT.
(To the Fditor.) Sir,—l should like to ask, through the columns of your paper, when that large open drain for the sewer down Graham and Ada Streets is likely to be filled in. It has been open now for about three weeks. It is not very creditable to the Council and the engineer to allow such drains to stand open so long. I am sure if it was in front of some of our councillors' houses they would have it seen to at once, no matter what it costs. Our streets seem to be beautifully mismanaged. Fancy putting clean riverbed metal on top of hard-set metalled streets, a shovelful here and there, and expect it to bind with the old metal that has been/there for years. Why, anyone knows the stones will get that roaming habit and travel all over the street if there is no binding to keep it in its place. I should like to Joe the engineer and the latter a carrier for a short time; then he might pick up a wrinkle or two. — I am, .etc.,
