Meteorological Report for March, 1906.
c & Mr W. Welch supplies the following meteorological reportfor March, the records being taken at .9.30 a.m. for the previous 24 hoars: — Rain fell on 7 days, the heaviest on 28rd with *880 inches. Total for the month, I*l2B inches, Total for March, 1905, inches. Total for March, 1904, 5.858 inches. Total for March, 1908,1:701 inches. Temperature, mean indoors for the month at.9.80 a.m., $2*74 degrees, For March. 1905, 65*98 degrees. For Marcb, 1904, 04*86 degrees. For March, 1903, 62 92 degrees. A severe earthquake was felt, travel* ling from N. to 8. on the 20th at 8 p.m. .The weather has been very erratic pretty well all over the world. From Toronto we hear there has been no snow; yet jsn nearly the same latitude the Athi»sc' 'lirftrsi experience the utmpat Severity -in snowstorms,- blmardi* and •Ifttense cold, the chips being ofteq, £<Syered with thick ice. In Melbourne | one day the thermometer degrees m th&sb.a4 e &nd two days after it was nearly feezing. In Sydney the same. Our lowest temperature during the month on the night of the 7th, when the minimum thermometer recorded 26 degrees, so that wo are not j specially singled out for worse weather] than outers. ■
