To be Depended On.

Because it is the experience of. a Palmerston North citizen, and can readily be investigated.

A stranger lost in a large cty would place far more dependence on the directions given him by a local resident tHian on the guidance of another stranger like himself. This is a natural conseiquence of experience ; its like a ship in a strange port—a trusty pilot familiar with the harbour is always called upon to bring her safely to her moorings.
