Wellington Wool Sales.

Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, report having held their first wool sale of the season in the Art Gallery on Friday. The catalogues from all brokers were smaller than usual owing to the bad weather which has prevailed everywhere during the past few weeks, and also the fact of the sale being held earlier than usual. There was a good attendance of Home, foreign and Continental buyers. The total number of bales catalogued was about 1500, as against about 4000 at the corresponding sale of last year. She following gives an indication of prices realised :—Good clean half-bred and fine crossbred lOjjd to ll£d, medium crossbred 9^d to IOAd, inferior crossbred B£d to 9^d, pieces s£d to 7d, dead 7^d to Bid, locks 3d to 4d, crutchings 6d to 6id. Our next sale will be held on the Bth December. The following cablegrams have been received by Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., from their London olGce, dated 16th inst.:—Tallow: Market weak, transactions small. Good to fine'quaiity, since our last telegram prices are nominally unchanged. Medium and inferior descriptions are a shade easier.- Butter: Market firm. Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending 11th instant amounted to 72,000 cwft as compared with 70,000 cwt for corresponding period of last year. Slightly better demand fc* New Zealand frozen lamb. Prices are a shade firmer. Canterbury, 4d to 4^d-; North Island, light and' heavy, quotations are nominal. Poor demand for New Zealand frozen mutton. Prices are a shade firmer. Canterbury, 3fd to 4d; North, 3^d to .3|d. Poor demand for'frozen beef, prices are unchanged. Fores, 2|d; hinds, 3 r }-d.
