Wharf Labourers on Strike.

(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright), (Per Press Association.) (Received Nov. 16, at 8.43 a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day. Two thousand attended the wharf labourers' meeting. Extraordinary precautions were taken to prevent leakage and no official information is obtainable, though it has been ascertained that a resolution was carried, but not unanimously. In some quarters it is stated that they propose a general cessation of work on the coastal and inter-State wharves when the Arbitration Court's award, reducing the payment for night work, comes into operation on Monday. Others say it is to be a cessation of sight work"only, and others still say the meeting favoured a continuance at existing rates. The general opinion is that there.will be at least a partial cessation of work on Monday. ■
