This evening sit the Opera Mouse there will be witnessed the consummation of many weeks of assiduous rehearsal on the part of the Palmerston 1 layers, m the production of : that „ ■■$^and' sparkling musical comedy, My Sweetheart." The utmost care has been taken by the management that all the infinite yanety of accessories shall be on the most complete scale possible, and it is promised that the audience this evening shall have no fault to find in this direction. The scenery has been specially painted for the production by Mr Neville Thornton from the original models ; the incidental music, which is quite a feature, will be supplied.by a strong and efficient or- ; chestra ; the dances and dressings are 'most elaborate and beautiful; while ; realism is lent to the scene by the introduction of a motor-car, pony-trap, and. various live stock, etc. It can confidently be stated that this evening's production will by far surpass anything previously attempted by amateurs in. tins town. It should also be noted that practically the whole stage space will be utilised, this in itself being something new in the Opera House. The Palmerston Brass Band are to play a number of selections on the Opera. House balcony prior to the performance which begins at 8 o'clock.
