Supreme Court
The Supreme Court sat until tea o clock last night hearing evidence in •the case of W. Coombs v. W. Akers, claim £1760 10s damages alleged to have been suffered by a bush fire. The Court resumed again this morning, before the Chief Justice, and then the jury was taken to view the scene of the fire. Ihe Court, it was expected would sit again at 4.30 this afternoon.*, PARTITION OF LAND. The case of F. W. Frankland v. Elsie Jensen, an application for a partition ot land, was set down for hearing in Wellington, at a date to be fixed by the parties. SUMMONS FOB DISCOVEEY. In the cases of C. F. Collins, an infant, v. the Bank of New South Wales and Jane Maria Collins and C F. Collins v. Syd. Scott and Co., Wellington and J. M. Collins, each summons for discovery, an order was made in accordance with the petition, an answer to be filed within ten days. A QUESTION" OF ACCOUNTS. An order was made in the case of Jas. Reed, now ot Sydney, late of Palmerston, v. Geo. A. Simpson, Foxton, j for accounts to be taken, before a ! registrar and if an accountant was required a further application to be made to .the Court. The question of costs was reserved. - ' MOTION DISMISSED. Athletic Park Company v. -"Win. Smith, mot'on for prohibition by Wm. ■■ Smith; to restrain the Magistrate hearing a case in connection with the removal of gravel from the river foreshore on the ground that a question of title is involved. Mr Moore appeared for the Company, and Mr Harden for Smith. The motion was dismissed with. £6 6s costs against Smith. The case will accordingly, proceed in the S.M. Court.
