WANGANUI, This day ; . -^c i Wanganui Agricultural Association's annual shqw opened to-day. The weather is dull, and there is a drizzling jaiii aits intervals. The enfries are on a par with last year's totals, and .all classes are of good quality. In horses there was keen competition in all classes, asd the quality was voted, particularly fine. Nestor took first and champion* prae in thoroughbred stallions, Phaeton.- being second. Ihe draughts were .g-reatly admired some particularly five animals beimr shown. '
j A great feature of the-show is the magnificent lot of dairy cattle—Shorthorns and Herefords. The championships for the polled Angus' bull went to J.J. Campbell's Duke of York. The same owner carried off similar honours for a cow.
■ The fat sheep were pronounced by the judges to be the best they had ever seen, and the same remarks- are applicable to the pigs.
