Lord Curzon's Resignation.
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Per Press Association.
LONDON, Augußt 23. The Bengal Chamber of Commerce has adopted a resolution lamenting Lord Curzon's resignation and gratefully thanking him for his signal services to the country, and applauding his ability and courage in defending constitutional principles.
Lord Curzon is the recipient of numberless sympathetic telegrams. The press comments are heated.
The Indian Home Government is fiercely assailed by some of the BritishIndian newspapers, who describe its action as militarism triumphant. Others expect a full debate on tbe subject in Parliament.
A number of native newspapers are jubilant over the retirement, hoping thereby that the partition of Bengal will be frustrated.
