The Horowhenua Union has dealt firmly with some players fo? rough play in the Ohau-Manakau match. The referee reported that R. Whiley (Ohau) had deliberately tripped an opponent in a cowardly way, and afterwards had used very bad language to the referee, while Thompson (Ohau) had brutally treated an opponent, jumping on him with his knees while on the ground. Whiley was disqualified for life and. Thompson for two years. S. Ransfield and Eoha Wehipeihana, spectators, for usiug bad language and inciting players to offend, were warned off all Union grounds for five years. Euihi Wehipeihana for coming on the field of play and inciting players to disobey, was disqualified, and warned off Union grounds for 12 months. Harry O'Donnell, for fighting on the ground, was severely cautioned. Wharcao, for coming on the field of play and using bad language, was disqualified for two years. T. Eawiri, for interfering with players, and urging them to leave the ground, was disqualified, and warned off all Union grounds for 12 months. It was also decided to disqualify the Ohau ground for the remainder of the season.
One ot the most interesting matches of the season will be played here on Saturday afternoon when a rep team from Hawke's Bay will try conclusions with a Manawatu team. A really good game is anticipated, especially as the visitors have beenconsiderably strengthened by the inclusion of fresh players froni-JSapier. Mr Jones will be in charge of the game, which will commence at 3 p.m. sharp.
