On page two of to-day's issue will be found a business announcement from the Equitable Life Assurance Society for which Messrs Jobnton^and Sim are the local agents. The office is one of the wealthiest in the world, its accumulated funds 'totalling the vast sum of £85,067,346. The bonus fund is another - large sum- £16 582,672, while policies m force total the trifling sum of ,£307,334,064.- As a guarantee, no doubt, of its ability to pay, the company has deposited £50,000 with the Public Trustee of New Zealand.
