Floods in New South Wales.
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Per Press Association.) Received April 3, at 9.42 a.m. SYDNEY, This day. The rain and gale having ceased the floods quickly subsided. During the storm 3£ inches of rain fell in the city. The low-lying districts round Darling harbour suffered severely. In some of the back Btreets the water rose to a height of ten feet and many residents were flooded out, the police rendering prompt aid in rescuing. The Government are providing shelter and assistance. Much damage was caused to property by the inroads of the water into warehouses and business places. Tram traffic to some of the suburbs has been disorganised for a time owing to the damage to the lines.
