The business of the local Land Boir *' has condrierablv increased o£ late and, consequently, there is a progrecs iv land settlement and a development of the flax industry: There has been quite a rum for flax areas recently and the revenue for the past month approximated £1000, which is a record for nearly 20 years. Owing to the rush of applications there is a considerable delay in obtaining rangers'reports and applicants are ptfc to much expense and inconvenience through the time lost. The press are urging the necessity for appointing additional rangers .to prevent the constant adjournment of important applications from month to month. '
