The Shield Competition.

The matches between the Masterton and Wanganui teams, in connection with the inter-provincial shield competition took place on the local courts this afternoon.

The Ladies' Doubles produced v.ry good tennis and it was not so one-sidea as the scores indicated. Ths men's doubles between Sellers and Bunny and Bell and Thomson was hotly contested and resulted in a win for the younger club—Wanganui. The singles were proceeding as we went to press. Mr A. D.
