The Markets.
Messrs Collins Bros., Feilding, report the following business at their mart and yards on Friday last: Pigs—There was a good yarding with fairly good demand. There was, however, a slight change in the tone of the market, prices being somewhat easier generally, heavier pigs maintaining about their usual standard. The drop is not so serious as it would first appear. Our prices on Friday were equally as good as those ruling ,in talmerston and other centres. Not only have we obtained extraordinary results during the past few months, but have actually topped the market- all ■■■ round. Owing to the fact of Feilding being the principal centre for pig raising m the .Forth Island n turally enough farmers would feel a little concerned at the very slightest fall in price, tDarticularly when emanating from that quarter. Actual results:—weaners 10s to 14s, slips 163 to 21s, stores 28s, •* small suckers ss. Poultry— A very, large entry and. good prices were obtained. Cockerels 2s 4d to 4s, average 3slOd per nair, hens 2.3 10d to 7s average os 2Ad per pair ;i mixed fowls and. "scrubs" 2s to 2s Bd, ducks4s to os 6d, young geese os, turkey hens 8a gobblers - 30s. The produce market is slightly dull.- All-kinds-of grain at current rates.
