(From Our Own Correspondent)

A very pretty wedding between two well-known residents took place at the Registrar's office in Ashhurst yesterday, the bridegroom bt>in<?M? William David Port and the bride Miss Kuth Suistcd. The two Miss Palmers (twin nieces of the bridegroom) attended as bridesmaids. They were dressed in white muslin, with shoes to mutch. The large and ncats hats they woro harmonised ■viih their features and made their style both becoming and smart. The bride herself whs dressed in a handsome eveam figmod silk lustre, trimmed with cream satin, and the usual bridal veil. The bouquet she carried was both lovely and uncommon, the body consisting of white s\r<-et, peas, with other flowers appropriately intermixed. The wedding breakfastwfi c given in a large building belonging to Mr Suisted, tho bride's father. It was handsom ely d eeorated for the occasion and after the usual toasts were given tho happy couple started for Napier, via Wellington, to spend their honeymoon, carrying with them the hearty good wishes of all their friends for their future happiness. The presents to the nowly married couple were both numerous and costly. The young and old alike, are looking forward to tne damm to be given by Mr and Mrs Lorimer to-morrow night, and, as it is J believe, to be an annual affair in connection with opening the dancing season in the district, no doubt their kindness will result m a most enjoyable evening.
