(Per Press Association ) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day Ine Arbitration Court sat on the case of the Canterbury Bakers' and lastry Cooks' Union against Frederick Schumach and others, for alleged breach es of award. J- D. Phillips was alleged when the award, giving preference to unionists came into force, to have omitted to discharge a non-unionist employee named Adams and replace by a unionist.

His Honour stated he did not think the Court ever held the retention of a man engaged before the coming into force of the award should be considered a breach of the award.
