Sir,—As a ratepayer I desire to express my highest appreciation ot the action ot the Borough Council in abattoir matters. While passing the resolution referring thereto as reported in their last proceedings, t venture to express my regret th;it a similar, expression oi opinion was not voiced with reference to the Opera House" Such resolutions are so consoling to the ratepayer and plainly show him how earnest and unremitting the Council is In endeavouring to carry out' the wishes of ratepayers, and above all in placing the blame upon the right shoulders wherever delay occurs in municipal affairs.
