Sorno months ago, Mr G. G. Stead announced his intention of presenting tho Canterbury Jockey Club with aeup, iih a trophy to be presented to tho winner of the Jubileo Cup, to bo decided at tho Canterbury Jockey Club's Metropolitan Meeting. Tho cup, which recently arrived from England, is now on view at the Canterbury Jockey Club's rooms, and the silversmith's artistic work is well worth inspection. On each side of tho bowl is a winged figure, standing out from flowered arms. On one side of the outer rim are beautiful embossed figures of horses finishing a race, whilst on the reverse are the words, " Won by," leaving plenty of room for tho insertion of the name of the winner. On the lid of the cup appears the following inscription :—" Jubilee Cup, 1902. Presented to the Canterbury Jockey Club by George G. Stead."
