Iliirry Palmer, auctioneer, reports :— On Wednesday last we had a remarknbly successful clearing ealo of dairy stock, etc., on account of Mr A. Forsaitb. Buyers wero present from all parts of the district and bidding was particularly brisk. The balance at prices ranging from £5, the average for the whole herd being £9 14a, which constitutes a record for the district. Thirteen springing heifors brought from £0 10s to £10 10s, yearling do £3 10s to £4 15s, one line of four realising £21, 18-aaonth Bteera £2 15s, yoarling.3 do flCs, woanors 8s 9d to 13s, chestnut mare £13, Raiding £7 7a Bd, roan mare mare £7, hofigets 8s Bd, fat ewes Ms 103, tniik float £15, buggy £20. Baniness at our usual Saturday'^ sale wn.i pretty brisk. Pigs, poor entry with plsnty of en. quirloa. Poultry—The entry was not so large as usual, but good prices were maintained throughout. There is a big demand fo; turkdji, good ducks, tablo oockcrda and good young laying hens. Produce —Best eaiing potatoes, 7s por lick; other sorts, 6s to 6s 6d; egg>, Qd per dozen. Messrs Mounaey and Co. report : — On Tuesday wo held a clearing salo on tho premises of W. Mann, E.-q., Broadstreet, when every lino sold.
